چکیده

Abstract According to the European energy consumption reports, highest energy/fuel in residential sector is due space heating, followed by water heating. Generally, product used warm buildings a boiler system where heat exchanger core of system. The paper provides Life Cycle Assessment analysis traditional domestic boilers with aim identify critical aspects and environmental hotspots for development novel concept exchanger. methodology collect eco-design guidelines from proposed within paper. Several actions were put into practice reduce issues each phase life cycle materials used, manufacturing processes as well geometry increase efficiency during use. Concerning phase, design based on different material (e.g., stainless steel) was developed replace mix (i.e., copper aluminum alloy). use overall increased allowing important savings terms gas/energy consumption, adoption spiral pipe). new shows better performance indicator, saving more than 40% CO2 emissions (Global Warming Potential) whole cycle.

Life cycle assessment of domestic and agricultural rainwater harvesting systems.

To further understanding of the environmental implications of rainwater harvesting and its water savings potential relative to conventional U.S. water delivery infrastructure, we present a method to perform life cycle assessment of domestic rainwater harvesting (DRWH) and agricultural rainwater harvesting (ARWH) systems. We also summarize the design aspects of DRWH and ARWH systems adapted to t...

Life-Cycle Engineering and Design

ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIDERATIONS play an increasingly important role in design and development efforts of many industries. "Cradle to grave" assessments are being used not only by product designers and manufacturers, but also by product users (and environmentalists) to consider the relative merits of various available products and to improve the environmental acceptability of products. Life-cycle e...

Assessment of Design Procedures for Vertical Borehole Heat Exchangers

The use of ground source energy systems is a well-established method to provide low cost heating to buildings, diversify the energy mix and help meeting increasingly stricter sustainability targets. However, considerable uncertainties remain over their efficient design, with several standards, guidelines and manuals being proposed over the last few years. This paper aims at providing insight in...
